Vision Statement
Making Disciples through Bible study to bring God's grace to a hurting world.

SUMC prison ministry (DBOM) began another session September 7th. This December will conclude five years of active mission work at Carteret Correctional Center in Newport, NC by our church. Our prison ministry teaches the "Disciple I" curriculum and is lead by John Gott and Bill Eubanks. Each student is given a gift of the NIV Life Application Study Bible along with other study materials to keep and use as they become disciples of Jesus Christ. In addition to the learning Scripture and fellowship, the students are invited to participate in the Lord's Supper and an occasional Agape love feast prepared by Linda Gott and Sandy Eubanks.

If you are interested in this ministry, please contact John Gott (910.326.8933).

It was a great evening as we received the testimony from Johnathan Stevenson, aka "Smoke." Smoke was one of the first students to graduate from our DBOM Disciple I class at the Carteret Correctional Center (CCC). He has since been released from CCC. As part of his witness, Smoke played his guitar and sang poetry he had written and put to music he had written.
