Golden Members

Our "golden" members are those of our church who are no longer able to attend services and are generally home-bound. There are currently about fifteen "golden" members of Swansboro United Methodist Church.

SUMC established a team to help these "golden" members continue to be a part of our church community. Team members try to give Christian love to our "golden" members through home visits every 4-6 weeks. The goal of these 20 to 30 (or more) minutes visits is to spend time talking and praying and maybe walking, playing a game or working on a craft project.

Team members are especially happy to acknowledge birthdays and Christmas with small gifts and to send cards throughout the year to let our "golden's" know we love and remember them.

Team members find this program rewarding for themselves as well as the "golden" members.
