Blessings In 2016

Sunday, May 1, 9:45 .am., 11:00 a.m. & 12:15 p.m. ~ Free training in the use of our Automated External Defibrillators (AED) by Onslow County EMS. The AED is a very user-friendly unit that talks the user through its use. The training will be simple and brief. All ushers, greeters and other interested members of the congregation are invited.

Monday, May 2, noon ~ Deadline for ordering Roses for Mothers

Thursday, May 5 ~ National Day of Prayer. Pray together for our country. Three prayer rallies will be held at noon: Emerald Isle Town Hall, Lowes Food parking lot in Cape Carteret, and Swansboro Town Hall. An evening prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm at Swansboro United Methodist Church in the sanctuary. For more information contact Lynn Rouse (910.358.3572)

Saturday, May 7

  • 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. ~ Celebrate "World Labyrinth Day" at the newly constructed labyrinth at the home of Frank & Helen Cizerle, 303 River Reach Ct., Swansboro. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the spiritual benefits of walking a labyrinth, an ancient aid in contemplation. Sponsored by Church & Society.   • 7 p.m. ~ Join us for an evening of Haitian culture and help support Haiti's most vulnerable children. Bill, Walnes, and Jacky will share their gifts of drumming and dancing while sharing updates about their ministries in Haiti.

Sunday, May 8, 15, 22 & June 5, 9:45 a.m. ~ OVERVIEW, a series of 4 sessions for those considering joining SUMC and members seeking basic information about Methodism. Includes enough church history to make it interesting, including our founder John Wesley, our special beliefs, the "how and why" of our Social Principles, polity (church organization), how Methodists deal with important concerns and the commitment to support the church with prayers, presence, gifts, services and witness. Monday - Thursday, July 11 - 14, 5 - 8 p.m. ~ Catch the wave  of God’s Amazing Love at the Surf Shack - Vacation Bible School. At the surf shack, kids will encounter God’s awesomeness through Bible stories and learn how we’re meant to experience an epic adventure each day.
