2010 Swansboro UMC Church-Wide Yard Sale
Our Church-wide Yard Sale was April 24, 2010. There was a line of folks waiting to get in at 7:30 a.m. Shortly after the doors opened, a continuous stream of folks began leaving with their arms full of great buys! There were tv's, dishes, glasses, electronics, toddlers' clothing and toys, bikes, golf and other exercise items, kitchen tools, lamps, office supplies, Christmas trees, etc.
In addition to the yard sale items, we also had plants, Fair Trade Coffee, and reusable 100% organic cotton shopping bags available for purchase. (Your purchase of one ‘green,’ reusable, shopping bag will feed 40 school children in Haiti.)
The sausage biscuits lasted until about 8:30 a.m. when we promptly switched to selling BBQ sandwiches. Coffee and soft drinks were also available.
A BIG, sincere THANK YOU to all the volunteers working Yard Sale 2010—before, during, and after! Each of you helped make this a success, which means we helped hundreds of folks and will be able to help many others through our national and international mission and outreach programs. This includes all the donors freely giving of their items. The presence of the Holy Spirit was clearly visible in all the smiles, laughs, hard work, cooperation, and generosity of time and materials—on Saturday and all the preparation days. Thanks again from your M&O/Yard Sale Team. Incidentally, the total income was $6385.07.
