UNITED METHODIST MEN aspire to the three F's

Friends - through Evangelism in the belief that every United Methodist Man deserves a few bonded brothers.

Fishermen - on a Mission involved in meaningful work - first in their families and local congregation - then in workplace witness, service work, missions, and outreach.

Followers - of the Spiritual Life - committed personally to daily prayer and Bible study, accountable relationships, and actively seeking God's will in their lives.

About Our Swansboro United Methodist Men’s Peanuts

<-- Click on picture for larger view

In 1986 the Swansboro United Methodist Men (SUMM) began cooking peanuts and they haven’t stopped! Our “Peanut Cookers” get together two or three times each month to cook, label, and package peanuts. The peanuts are sold through the church office, at many merchants in Eastern North Carolina, and via email and online orders throughout the world. The net proceeds (in excess of $25,000 annually) are donated to more than 55 local and worldwide missions, agencies, and needy individuals.

These peanuts are sold in individual 7 ounce jars for $3.50 each, or $30 for a case ($12 discount!) of 12 jars (lightly salted, unsalted, or both). Peanuts are shipped by the case only.

If UMM ships the peanuts, add the FedEx shipping charges, which vary from about $7/case to $15/case, depending on the zone. FedEx requires a physical address and telephone number for delivery. To determine the shipping amount, go to the FedEx website.

Our zip code is 28584 and the shipping weight is 11 pounds per case. The lightly salted peanuts are shipped if a preference is not designated. An invoice is included in the shipping envelope on the box (or one box, if many) unless a separate billing address is designated. The UMM appreciate payment upon receipt of the peanuts. Costs for shipping to military persons may vary.

In addition to being a treat for all of us, they make wonderful gifts. Share the crunch and flavor with others and help our mission projects.

Boxes are usually shipped on the Wednesday following receipt of the order.

Orders received (by completing and submitting the online form below, ordering through our Gifts of Grace Marketplace,  emailing information to Peanuts@SwansboroMethodistMen.org, or calling the church office) by early Tuesday will usually be shipped on Wednesday. Name, Address, Phone Number, and Quantity information is required. If your order is not prepaid (via Gifts of Grace Marketplace), upon receiving your invoice, please submit amount due to:

The Swansboro United Methodist Men (SUMM) Policy for
Donating Peanuts to Service Personnel Serving Overseas:

1. A member of SUMC serving in war/hostile zone – UMM donates and ships 1 case/year.

2. A member of SUMC serving overseas (non-hostile) or any service person serving overseas–
UMM donates 1 case/year; sponsor pays shipping.

In order to ship peanuts to service personnel, the SUMM needs information from appropriate sponsors or others in the Church/Church Office. Upon receipt of this information, UMM will ship and, if appropriate, invoice sponsors for their share. Refer to the online order form below for details of required information for shipping to service personnel serving oversees.
