Christmas BanquetThe annual Christmas Banquet, hosted by your UMM, was held Saturday, December 12, 2009. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of roast beef and all the trimmings catered by Chowdaheads. Sarah Feutz played a clarinet solo for us. Angie Hypes, Ashley Hypes, Tara Proper, Rachel Woodul, Corinne Giles, and Lacy Tucker sang some Christmas songs for us. Thanks to our talented young ladies and to Merle Epperson who accompanied them! The evening ended with a sing-a-long led by Mel Guss. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Methodist Home for ChildrenOur District and Swansboro United Methodist Men again sponsored the Annual Methodist Home for Children Golf Tournament on September 19, 2009, at Jacksonville Country Club. September 25 - Saturday - NC Conference UMM Duke Day, Duke vs. Army
This year's emphasis is 'youth.' Each man and fellowship is encouraged to bring local youth - particularly less advantaged youth who may not otherwise get to a college football game. The day includes a special Duke tour and meeting special guests, a worship service, a tailgate lunch, and the game…all for only $20 per person. Since the game may be televised, we will not know kickoff time until 13 days before the game, but anticipate a noon kickoff. As soon as we receive confirmation of the kickoff time, we will followup with email and announcements and update this page.
As in past years, we plan to drive the bus, departing the Church upper parking lot at 6:30 a.m. Seats on the bus are first come, first served. However, there is no limit on the number of people who can go. After we fill our bus, we will arrange car pooling, borrow buses/vans, and organize a caravan to/from Duke U.

In addition to being a treat for all of us, they make wonderful gifts. Share the crunch and flavor with others and help our mission projects.
